This bike is something special.

In July 2024, I acquired this 2005 Suzuki Boulevard S40 for $1600. With a bald rear tire and blown fork seals, I rode it the 30 minutes of freeway home. The maintenance required to make it my daily rider was the perfect excuse to hit it with some paint. I decided to dub it the “Bantam” because by definition, a bantam is a small chicken known for its aggression. Clocking in at just over 300lbs with a 650cc single cylinder motor fitted and an exhaust to piss off your neighbors, this bike indeed feels like a bantam. Since finishing the paint I was gifted this sky-scraping sissy bar from the 70s that required some re-welding after a neighborhood cat took me out. Some 7000+ miles later over the past year it has only become more fun to ride. As Im typing this, the bike is entering into a new aesthetic chapter as I utilize fabrication skills in addition to a fresh paint job. That version will arrive when it does…
